Who translates and certifies certificates?

Official documents, including certificates, should always be translated by sworn translators. These certified translators are state-certified and have taken an oath before a regional court, higher regional court, or internal affairs authority. This authorizes them to translate and certify documents, certificates, and certificates into other languages.

How do I determine the page count?

A single page is one side of a sheet of paper (regardless of word count). Front and back count as two separate pages. For translation purposes, we count all relevant pages of your original document. The total page count is the sum of all individual pages. Learn more here.

  • Whether it's a school certificate (e.g., high school diploma), a high school diploma, your bachelor's or master's degree, or even a diploma or state examination – a certificate always marks the completion of a phase of life and the beginning of something new. And this new phase can take place somewhere else entirely, for example, abroad. But even there, you have to demonstrate what you've achieved so far.

We want to help you get started. Unfortunately, translating your academic certificates yourself using an online tool isn't enough for a school year abroad, studying at a foreign university, or applying for a new job on the other side of the world. For this, you need not just a good translation, but a certified translation in the respective local language, prepared by a sworn translator. And that's exactly what we offer.

  • Out into the world – have your school certificate translated

In most cases, you have a school certificate translated for one of two purposes: either you want to apply for a year abroad or a longer student exchange, or it's a diploma you want to use to apply for an apprenticeship or a job abroad. In both cases, you need a certificate translation that accurately translates all grades and evaluations and is also verified by an official certification. We offer both.

  • University is calling – translation of your high school diploma

A high school diploma opens many doors – one of which leads to university. It's now commonplace that your chosen university isn't always on your doorstep, and sometimes it's even located abroad. To help you realize your dream of studying abroad, we'll help you with your application: Our professional translators will translate and certify your German high school diploma to ensure your application is accepted abroad. And of course, we'll also help if you're using your high school diploma to apply for training or employment abroad.

  • The next step – certified translation of the bachelor’s certificate

After completing a bachelor's degree, career paths often lead to professional life or a subsequent master's degree. Why not continue your studies abroad? We will provide you with a certified translation of your bachelor's degree certificate and transcript of records – confirmed with a stamp and signature by our sworn translators. All this in compliance with international standards and at a price that even (former) students can afford.

  • Traveling without borders – translating master’s certificates, diplomas, state examinations

If you hold your master's certificate, your diploma, or your state examination in hand, you've made it. The professional world is open to you, worldwide. A certified translation of your certificate is not only an advantage when applying for a job, but is often also required by employers. No problem! We'll translate and certify your certificate so your prospective boss can see what you're capable of.

  • Our quality for your future – that’s why we are triple certified

Your certificate is your ticket to countless (international) career opportunities. That's why we attach great importance to the quality of our translations and want you to be completely satisfied. All our translators are state-certified, sworn in before courts, and authorized to produce certified translations. But that's not all: We are also triple ISO-certified—for our translation services (ISO 17100:2015), our quality management (ISO 9001:2015), and our information security (ISO/IEC 27001:2013).

  • Which certificates can I have translated?

At Sworn Translators, we translate all types of certificates - whether they're formatted as tables, paragraphs, or anything in between.

    Commonly translated certificates include:

    Employment references
    High school diplomas
    School reports and transcripts
    Bachelor's degrees
    Master's degrees
    Internship certificates
    Professional certifications
    University diplomas

Have a different type of certificate? We translate those too! Simply upload your document above and we'll handle the rest.

  • When do I need to have a certificate translated?

Whether you need to have your certificate translated (and certified) always depends on the recipient. Schools and universities usually require a certified translation of certificates. When applying for a job abroad, employers have different requirements. Some require a (certified) translation of school and employment certificates, while for others, certificates are less important in the application process. Therefore, you should always clarify with your new employer or university in advance whether you need to submit a certified translation of your certificates.

  • Can I translate a certificate myself?

Of course, you can always translate certificates yourself or with the help of a translation tool, but be careful: Most offices, authorities, and public institutions won't accept self-translated certificates! In these cases, you'll usually need to submit a certified translation, created by a sworn translator and verified with a stamp and signature. The same applies to universities and schools. Even when changing jobs abroad, employers often require a certified translation of academic and employment certificates.
